Helping you regain confidence, safety and independence at home after a fall.
A fall can affect much more than your physical health. Even after injuries have healed, many people find themselves feeling less confident at home and worried about falling again.
Through specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and detailed accommodation reports, we identify the challenges you face and recommend practical solutions to make everyday life safer and easier.
Whether you need simple adaptations or a long term plan for your home, we help you find the right path forward with confidence.
It was decided for safety reasons that our Bathroom should be replaced by a wet room. We selected John Ford Group and they were highly professional from day one. The fitters made sure that facilities were readily available and cleaned up at the end of each day. We now have a beautiful wet room and would happily recommend John Ford Group.

Dealing initially with John, our brief was to provide my mother-in-law with an adapted bathroom within her own home, that would be safe for her own/assisted use and easy to keep clean. Communication by this company were excellent! From first visit to project sign off we were informed of each stage of the process and given daily updates of progress. The standard of workmanship was to a very high standard and involved problem solving that was unforeseen. The plan by John, incorporated design features appropriate to my Mother-in -laws Dementia and mobility conditions, to create a result that surpassed the brief given to him. Moreover, John Ford Group had to coordinate around our challenging needs and time constraints of arranging respite care whilst all works were completed

We specialise in adaptations for people living with disabilities, serious injuries and changing mobility needs. Unlike general builders, our focus is on creating practical, accessible spaces that support independence, dignity and quality of life.
We understand that an adapted bathroom is about more than construction — it’s about helping people feel safer, more confident and less reliant on others in their own home.
Our experience working alongside Occupational Therapists, Case Managers and rehabilitation professionals means we understand how to deliver solutions that are tailored to each individual’s needs.
From accessible bathrooms and wet rooms to level-access showers and specialist bathing solutions, we manage the process with care, expertise and clear communication, ensuring your adaptation is delivered by specialists who understand what matters.

How can an Occupational Therapy assessment help after a fall?
An Occupational Therapy assessment looks at how your home environment and daily activities may be contributing to difficulties or risks. The assessment identifies practical ways to improve safety, independence and confidence, helping you continue living comfortably at home.
What is an accommodation report?
An accommodation report is a detailed assessment of your property and living situation. It outlines any barriers, risks and recommended adaptations, providing a clear plan to support your current and future needs.
Who might benefit from an Occupational Therapy assessment?
Anyone who has experienced a fall, injury, illness or change in mobility may benefit from an assessment. It can be particularly valuable for people who have lost confidence at home or are concerned about their long-term independence.
What happens during an Occupational Therapy assessment?
The Occupational Therapist will discuss your daily routine, mobility, challenges and goals. They will also assess your home environment to identify any risks and opportunities for improvement before making tailored recommendations.
Can an assessment help prevent future falls?
Yes. By identifying hazards, mobility challenges and difficulties with everyday activities, an assessment can recommend practical solutions that reduce risks and help prevent future falls.
What types of recommendations might be included in an accommodation report?
Recommendations can range from simple adaptations such as grab rails and improved access arrangements to larger projects including bathroom adaptations, home extensions or reconfiguring living spaces.
Do I need to have already had a serious injury before seeking an assessment?
No. Many people seek advice before problems become more serious. Early intervention can often help prevent accidents, maintain independence and avoid more significant adaptations later on.
How long does an Occupational Therapy assessment take?
The length of an assessment varies depending on individual circumstances and the complexity of your needs. Your Occupational Therapist will explain the process and timescales before the assessment takes place.
Can you recommend an Occupational Therapist?
Yes. We work closely with a number of experienced Occupational Therapists and can recommend trusted professionals who specialise in assessing people with disabilities, injuries and changing mobility needs.
What happens after the assessment is completed?
Once the assessment and report are complete, you'll have a clear understanding of the options available to you. If adaptations are recommended, we can help guide you through the next steps and discuss practical solutions for your home.
Every person's circumstances are different. Whether you've recently experienced a fall or are concerned about your safety and independence at home, we're here to provide expert advice and guidance.
